Announcing the Let's Grow Kids Action Network

Let's Grow Kids is thrilled to announce the launch of the Let’s Grow Kids Action Network (LGKAN)!

LGKAN is the brand-new 501(c)(4) sister organization of Let’s Grow Kids. Alongside LGK, the Let’s Grow Kids Action Network will lead a 3-year legislative campaign to support the political resolve needed to pass laws that fund and support a sustainable and equitable child care system in Vermont.

Why is this important?

For starters, as a 501(c)(4) organization, the Action Network will have more freedom to drive legislative and political solutions to the child care crisis in Vermont. That means:

Working closely with our legislative child care champions to advance our policy agenda;

Joining with our supporters to move more and more legislators to join our movement; and

Supporting and endorsing legislators who prioritize making high-quality child care affordable and accessible to all Vermont families.

We’ve mentioned it before but it bears repeating: we are beginning the homestretch of this movement. We're no longer talking about "why," we're talking about "when." And "when" starts now. As for "how?" ...

The Let’s Grow Kids Action Network is the vehicle that is going to drive policy change. And YOU are the fuel that is going to propel us forward.

What are the next steps?

Let’s Grow Kids has already called on the Vermont Legislature to transform child care for children birth to five over the next 3 years so that no family spends more than 10% of their income on child care; all children have access to high-quality child care taught by qualified early educators who are fairly compensated and well-supported; and a well-coordinated and transparent child care system is funded through a stable, long-term funding source.

You can learn more about our policy agenda by downloading our handout, watching our video, or reading our white paper.

What can I do?

First and foremost, please add your name in support of the policy agenda so that we can show your legislators that they have the political will needed to create this historic change.

Second, check out the new Let’s Grow Kids Action Network website and follow LGKAN on social media.

With support from champions like you, we can ensure all Vermont’s children have equal opportunities to learn, thrive, and reach their full potential.
