Visual Eyes Creativity Center

Must enjoy being outside and have energy and a positive attitude to share with babies and children. Our center is remodeled farm house and barn. We have retained the feel of an old Vermont farm because it fits our philosophies about teaching children. We spend a lot of time outside, climb trees, grow food and process it with the kids, raise chickens, maple sugar, and do messy activities. We mingle ages as much as possible to allow for peer learning. We are providing a "traditional Vermont childhood" augmented by purposeful curriculum to guide scaffolded learning.

This ad states 1 year experience but we will train the right person with a spark of energy and excitement to learn along with all of us. Are you that person? If so take a chance and call for more info.

Jul 15, 2019

Education/Training

Stonewood School North

Stonewood School North is now hiring an infant/toddler teacher assistant to work in our licensed center located between the towns of Shelburne and South Burlington. Our school currently holds a 4 Star rating, is a prequalified preschool program under Act 166, and is a specialized care provider. We will be working towards a 5 Star rating and NAEYC accreditation in 2019-2020!

Our center currently has seven classrooms, and over 60 children enrolled. This position is for an infant/toddler teacher assistant in one of our youngest classrooms. Children's ages range from 7-13 months. Stonewood is a "looping" program meaning we believe children learn best in a consistent, predictable environment. We do not require children to move classrooms on their birthday but instead we keep groups of children together for up to 2.5 years in the same classroom. While the materials and classroom environment may change, the students and teachers remain consistent. We are seeking an early educator to join our infant/toddler group, and the ideal candidate would be available to remain with this group until they are about 2.5 years of age. This is a full time, year round, salaried position with lots of paid time off for vacation, sick days, and holidays.

At Stonewood School North, we strive to create an atmosphere of respect for all children and their families, and for our teaching teams. Please see our webpage at www.stonewoodschoolnorthvt.com for information about our philosophy, history, and classrooms.

Applicants must have at least one year of experience working with children, and at least 3 college credits in a related field (psychology, sociology, education, or social

work). Associate's degree in early education definitely a plus.

If applicants do not meet these requirements, we are willing to work with the right candidate if they are interested in taking college coursework.

We offer gracious paid time off, flexible scheduling, and free childcare to our employees (space permitting).

We are an equal opportunity employer, and are passionate about the diversity of our center.

If you are interested in this position, please apply with a resume and cover letter, or call (802) 985-8118 for more information.
