Stonewood School North is now hiring full or part time floaters, support staff, and aides to work in our licensed center located between the towns of Shelburne and South Burlington for the 2019-2020 school year. Our school currently holds a 4 Star rating, is a prequalified preschool program under Act 166, and is a specialized care provider. We will be working towards a 5 Star rating and NAEYC accreditation 2019-2020!


Our center currently has seven classrooms and about 60 children enrolled. Children's ages range from infant through prekindergarten (6 weeks through 5 years). The ideal candidate would be available at least a few hours Monday through Friday, or a few consistent days each week, September 2019 through June 2020. Job duties include classroom support, break coverage during lunches and naps, and substitute teaching with all ages.

Stonewood is a "looping" program meaning we believe children learn best in a consistent, predictable environment. We do not require children to move classrooms on their birthday but instead we keep groups of children together for up to 2.5 years in the same classroom. While the materials and classroom environment may change, the students and teachers remain consistent. We are seeking an early educator to join our current one/two year old group, and the ideal candidate would be available to remain with this group until they are about 2.5-3 years of age, or Fall 2020. This is a full time, year round, salaried position with lots of paid time off for vacation, sick/mental health days, training, professional development, and holidays. Our Firefly classroom is passionate about social-emotional development, and utilizes a curriculum that supports pro-social skills and self-regulation. The class currently has 8 children enrolled with a strong lead teacher and one teaching aide.
